Over two seasons at Rider, Lonkert was theMetro Atlantic Athletic Conference champion on 1-Meter and an NCAA Zone Qualifier. She also won MAAC Diver of the week twice during her Rider career.
"We are thrilled to have Heather join us," Head Swimming and Diving Coach Bill Tramel said Wednesday. "Andrew Helmich, our diving coach has done wonders with our diving program, and Heather will fit right in."
Lonkert will join a diving team that returns all but one diver from last season due to graduation.
"Heather is a talented diver that has accomplished a lot during her time at Rider," Helmich said. "She is a zone which speaks volumes to her competitive spirit. She will be a great addition to our team and I look forward to working with her."
Lonkertstated, "I am beyond excited to be a member of the Thundering Herd."
Lonkert becomes the 7th addition to Marshall's Swimming & Diving program for the 2015-16 season.
HUNTINGTON, W.Va. - Heather Lonkert, a Sophomore Diver from Moon Township, PA will transfer to Marshall University for her Junior year. Lonkertwill transfer from Rider University.
