Marshall in Fourth After Two Rounds in Chattanooga

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. -- Senior Sarah Helly (Enniscrone, Ireland) shot a combined 7-over-par 151 over the first two rounds of the Chattanooga Classic to lead Marshall women's golf on Monday at Council Fire Golf Club.
Helly bounced back from a 5-over 77 first round to card a 2-over 74 on the second 18 holes and sits in 12th place out of 62 individuals. Classmate Korakot Simsiriwong (Narathiwat, Thailand) also posted a team-low 74 in the second round and is tied for 21st. As a team, the Herd is tied for fourth at 49-over 625 with Louisiana Monroe.
ON THE LEADERBOARD
Host Chattanooga leads the pack at 18-over 594, seven strokes ahead of Central Arkansas (25-over 601). Vanderbilt's individual entry Morgan Ranson tops the field by two strokes at 1-under 143 heading into the final round.

"Our second round play was much better. It rained all day and the course was nearly unplayable at times but the girls stayed tough. Sarah [Helly] played well in round 2 after a tough finish on her first round. It shows she has great mental toughness. Gone [Simsiriwong] bounced back with a 74 in the second round as well, which was good to see. We will go out tomorrow and try to post a low team score and see how much ground we can make up."
