@HerdSB to Face No. 13 Kentucky On Wednesday

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. -- Marshall softball (25-10, 6-5 C-USA) will travel to Lexington, Ky., Wednesday to take on the No. 13 Kentucky Wildcats (27-11) in a single game at 6 p.m.
HAVE YOU HERD?
Marshall has won seven games in a row after sweeping North Texas in two games last weekend. The Thundering Herd is ranked No. 44 in the RPI, and third among Conference USA schools.
Marshall sophomore pitcher Jordan Dixon is tied for the Division I lead in victories, with 23.
D'ORAZIO GETS HERD'S FIFTH C-USA PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Marshall softball freshman Elicia D'Orazio (Clermont, Fla.) has been named the Conference USA Player of the Week.
D'Orazio, who plays second base, had a very strong week at the plate, posting a .700 batting average. She went 7-for-10 with six RBI and four runs. She also tacked on three stolen bases and a double.
D'Orazio's C-USA honor is the fifth given to Marshall softball this season, joining Shaelynn Braxton, Morgan Zerkle (twice) and Jordan Dixon.
SCOUTING THE WILDCATS
The Wildcats are ranked No. 13 in the NFCA poll and come into Wedneday's game on a two-game winning streak. Kentucky defeated Florida Atlantic in a double header on Monday. The Wildcats lead the series, 10-3, winning last year's meeting 6-2. Christian Stokes leads the Wildcats with a .358 average this season. Pitchers Kelsey Nunley and Meagan Prince both lead the team with 11 wins.
