Road C-USA Test Ahead for @HerdSB

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. -- Marshall softball (25-10, 6-5) will hit the road for a Conference USA series against Middle Tennessee (14-19, 2-13) this Saturday and Sunday in Murfreesboro, Tenn.
Saturday's double header will begin at 3 p.m. ET, while Sunday's game will start at 1 p.m. ET.

Marshall's scheduled game at No. 13 Kentucky on Wednesday was canceled due to weather.
No makeup date has been announced.
Marshall leads Conference USA in batting average and is 20th in the nation in batting average. Marshall is also second best in the Division I in stolen bases, with 3.06. Sophomore Morgan Zerkle is fourth in batting average, 24th in on-base percentage, 15th in runs per game and second in stolen bases.Â
Marshall pitcher Jordan Dixon is first in Division I for wins, third in strikeouts and eighth in shutouts.Â

MARSHALL'S SCHEDULE INCLUDES SIX IN RPI TOP 50
Monday's NCAA RPI has Marshall ranked No. 44, third highest in Conference USA. Marshall has played or will face six teams ranked in the current RPI top 50. That list includes No. 3 Auburn, No. 28 South Alabama, No. 31 South Carolina, No. 32 Western Kentucky, No. 38 Florida Atlantic and No. 49 USF. The Herd would have played another top 25 RPI team on Wednesday. Kentucky is ranked No. 16 in the RPI.
SCOUTING THE BLUE RAIDERS
The Blue Raiders are 14-19(2-13 C-USA). Cor'Nisha Birdsong leads Middle Tennessee with a .373 average and has 30 stolen bases.
Six total players for Middle Tennessee have more than a .300 batting average. Kelci Cheney (8-11), leads the team in wins.
Last season, Marshall swept the series in Murfreesboro as part of a seven game win streak. The games were high scoring affairs. Each contest ended with more than 10 combined runs.
Marshall leads the overall series 4-1.
