HURRICANE, W.Va. - Marshall women's golfers Pimrawee Huang (Nakornpatom, Thailand) and Lauryn Davidson (Vienna, W.Va.) each placed in the top 4 at the 92nd West Virginia Women's Amateur on Thursday at the 5,200-yard Sleepy Hollow Golf Club.

Huang, a rising junior, shot a 70 in the final round to post a three-day, 54-hole score of 2-under-par 218 for second place. Davidson, an incoming freshman, finished fourth at 1-over 222.

"This event is a tune up for them before our season starts," Herd coach Tiffany Prats said. "Now they know what they need to improve on. I know that they will work hard and be ready to go next month. Ning [Huang] had a decent week finishing second. It seemed like all week her putter just let her down. Still to finish second and to shoot 2-under is solid. She is going to be unstoppable in the near future.

Lauryn turned today at 4-under-par which is some great golf. She had to go for it on the back nine and unfortunately made a couple mistakes. I'm very excited to get her on campus. She is going to be a great asset to for our program."

Defending champion Adeena Shears, a 17-year-old out of Parkersburg South High School, repeated as medalist at 3-under 215. She won the 2014 Amateur by five strokes at 225.
