@HerdMWGolf Announces 2015-16 Schedule

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. – Marshall men’s and women’s golf teams announced their 2015-16 schedules Monday.
Both the men’s and women’s programs will be participating in six tournaments during the fall and four more in the spring before concluding with the Conference USA Championships.
The women’s team will get the season rolling at the Bluegrass Kickoff (Aug. 31) in Richmond, Ky. The other schools featured in the one day 36-hole tournament will be Eastern Kentucky, WKU, Belmont and Morehead State.
Both Herd teams will be playing in the Golfweek Program Challenge (Sept. 6-8) from beautiful Pawleys Island, S.C. For the men, it will be the first tournament of the fall season.
From there the women’s team will move on the Murray State Drake Invitational (Sept. 14-15), the Lady Pirate Intercollegiate, hosted by East Carolina (Sept. 28-29), the Pinehurst Challenge (Oct. 12-13) and then finish the fall at the Fighting Camel Classic, hosted by Campbell University (Oct. 18-20).
For the men’s team in the fall, following the Golfweek Program Challenge, the Herd will host the 46th Joe Feaganes Marshall Invitational (Sept. 14-15) at Guyan Golf & Country Club. Next, the Herd will move on to the Patriot Intercollegiate, hosted by George Mason (Sept. 27-28), the Kenny Perry Invitational, hosted by WKU (Oct. 12-13), the first Mountaineer Intercollegiate, hosted by WVU (Oct. 19-20) and finish at the Hummingbird Intercollegiate, hosted by Western Carolina (Nov. 1-2).
In the spring, the women’s program will begin at the Kiawah Island Classic for the fifth straight year (Feb. 28-March 1). The team will then head to Florida for the MSU Spring Citrus Classic, hosted by Morehead State (March 20-22), the Bearcats Spring Classic, hosted by Cincinnati (March 25-27) and the Hoya Invitational (TBD). The Conference USA Championship will be held April 18-20 with the site TBD.
The men’s team will get the spring rolling at the Davidson Invitational (Feb. 29-March 1), then the Pinehurst Intercollegiate (March 11-13), the Furman Intercollegiate (March 25-27) and then co-host the Greenbrier Invitational with Bowling Green (April 11-12). The Conference USA Championship will be held April 24-27 in Texarkana, Ark.
