HUNTINGTON, W.Va. - Marshall women's soccer (1-1-0) will tour the Hoosier State for a pair of matches this weekend, visiting IUPUI (1-0-1) and Indiana State (0-2-0). The Herd will face the Jaguars at 6 p.m. on Friday in Indianapolis before traveling about an hour southwest to Terre Haute, Ind., on Sunday for a 1 p.m. meeting with the Sycamores.

HAVE YOU HERD?
After dropping its season opener in a 1-0 decision to Monmouth (Aug. 21), Marshall gained its first win of the year with a 1-0 defeat of VCU (Aug. 23) in Richmond, Va. Rookie forward Ashley Seltzer (Knoxville, Tenn.) scored her first collegiate goal in the 19th minute to give the Herd the advantage, assisted by senior Erin Simmons (Gahanna, Ohio). Senior Lizzie Kish (Boyertown, Pa.) tallied the 13th shutout of her career.
CLIMBING THE CHARTS
Three women's soccer seniors are making their way into the Herd record book.
- Kelly Culicerto (Charlotte, N.C.) ranks in the top 10 on five career lists: shots (second, 152), game-winning goals (third, six), multi-goal matches (third, three), goals (ninth, 12) and points (10th, 27).
- Erin Simmons (Gahanna, Ohio) is on four career lists: game-winning goals (seventh, four), shots (seventh, 126), goals (eighth, 13) and points (eighth, 33).
- Lizzie Kish (Boyertown, Pa.) has played every minute in the net for Marshall since the start of 2013 and ranks in career shutouts (second, 13), minutes (second, 3,866) and saves (fourth, 145).

SCOUTING THE JAGUARS
IUPUI (1-0-1) remains unbeaten through the first soccer weekend, with a scoreless draw against Eastern Illinois (Aug. 21) and a 4-1 defeat of UIC (Aug. 23). Junior forward Tori Minnich and sophomore keeper Catherine Schmidt swept the initial Summit League weekly awards of the season, earning the accolades on Monday (Aug. 24). Minnich tallied the game-winner and contributed an assist against UIC, while Schmidt improved her career record to 7-5-4.
Marshall is 2-0-0 all-time against IUPUI, with both meetings ending in Jaguar shutouts. The Herd took the first meeting in 1999 in Indianapolis, 2-0. Two years later, Marshall dominated the Jaguars, 8-0, in Huntington.
SCOUTING THE SYCAMORES
Indiana State (0-2-0) is looking for its first win of the year after being swept last weekend by Idaho (Aug. 21) and Montana (Aug. 23). Senior Sydney Lovelace scored twice in the most recent outing, a 4-3 double overtime loss to the Grizzlies. Lovelace leads the team in points (four), goals (two), shots (seven) and shots on goal (three) on the young season. The Sycamores will face Belmont on Friday before hosting the Herd on Sunday at 1 p.m.
This Sunday will be Marshall's first meeting with Indiana State.
