HUNTINGTON, W.Va. - A 57th minute goal by Daniel Jodah and a 104th minute strike by Rimario Gordon helped Marshall to a 2-1 overtime win Tuesday against Liberty in Lynchburg, Va.

Marshall improves to 3-1-0 this season and is 2-1 in overtime games, while Liberty falls to 1-3-0.

AGAINST THE FLAMES

For the third consecutive Marshall game, the Herd entered the halftime break tied 0-0. The Flames led 11-6 in shots and had six shots on goal to Marshall's one.

In the 57th minute, Marshall capitalized through the feet of junior Daniel Jodah (Mississauga, Ontario). Jodah received a pass from senior Jack Hopkins (Birmingham, Ala.) in the center of the box and shot past the Liberty goalkeeper to make the score 1-0.

In the final minute of regulation action, Liberty's Sachem Wilson drew the Flames level with a bicycle kick to level the score and snap Marshall's streak of 315 minutes without allowing a goal.

In the second period of overtime, Hopkins passed the ball to junior Rimario Gordon (Kingston, Jamaica), who collected his second goal of the season in the 104th minute. Marshall goalkeeper Dominik Reining (Frankfurt, Germany) had another strong performance, posting six saves.

THE GRAY AREA

Marshall coach Bob Gray on the match:

"On our first goal, we knew Liberty had momentum and their team could probably feel a goal coming, but we told the team at halftime that we had to turn the tables. We stepped out there and did that with one of our better deliveries to Daniel, who got his first goal."

"On their goal they just kept lumping balls into the box and to their credit, they never quit. We are able to pull it out in overtime though, so give credit to the guys for hanging in there."

"Austin Klueh stepped in on defense and played well tonight, as did freshman John Pappas. Dominik Reining played very well too. Our goalkeeping has been very solid this season. So, we're going to get on the bus and come home and have two days to prepare for our first home games."
