PAWLEYS ISLAND, S.C. - The Marshall men's and women's golf teams enter the final day of the GolfWeek Program Challenge in the middle of the pack currently in 11th place.

Sophomore Leigha Holt (Holly Springs, N.C.) shot a second round 72 and moved up 27 spots on the leaderboard. Head Coach Tiffany Prats is proud of what she has seen from her second year player. "Leigha had a solid round with 15 pars, two bogeys and one birdie," Coach Prats stated. "She is playing well, she just needs a few more putts to fall. Leigha has really matured from last spring to this fall. You can see she is comfortable on the course."

The rest of the team combined to shoot 13 strokes better in the second round than the first. Helping the Herd move up to 11th overall. Coach Prats had stated after the first day that her team had the ability to climb back up. "Today was a better day for us. We need to go out tomorrow and put up a solid round to move up the leaderboard."

On the men's side, junior Clark Robinson (South Windsor, Conn.) shot a second round 70 and is three-under and currently tied for ninth place going into the final round. Head Coach Matt Grobe has a lot of confidence in his junior leader. "Clark really had a good round today," Coach Grobe stated. "I think he will come out tomorrow and put up another good score."

The Herd men's team struggled a little bit in the second round and Head Coach Matt Grobe knows that the mental aspect is just as important in keeping up with the competition.

"As a team we really struggle today," Coach Grobe said. "We were in the final group playing with the leaders and we just didn't handle it very well. I hope that we learned what it takes to perform better in these situations in the future. I think I need to do a better job of preparing the guys for these pressure situations and the guys need to do a better job of staying in the present. I'm really looking forward to seeing how we bounce back on the final day."
