Herd Swimming and Diving Resumes Action Thursday

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. - The Marshall swimming and diving team returns to home competition Thursday at 2 p.m. against James Madison at the Frederick A. Fitch Natatorium in Huntington. Admission is free for spectators.
The meet was originally scheduled for Saturday at 12 noon, but due to the forecast of inclement weather, the date has been moved ahead.
Marshall is swimming its first meet of 2016 and first in more than two months. The Herd is 7-1 in dual meets this season.
In its last meet, the Herd finished sixth at the Nike Cup, hosted by North Carolina. Four of the teams that finished ahead of the Herd are currently nationally ranked.
At the Nike Cup, freshman Anna Lynch set school records in the 1,000 - and - 1,650 yard freestyle. Herd swimmers also set 36 new lifetime bests.

Marshall travels to Nashville, Tenn., to take on Vanderbilt and North Florida. The following week, the Herd hosts the two-day Marshall Invitational starting on Feb. 5 at 5 p.m.
