Marshall Women's Golf Jumps Five Spots in Round Two

Round Two Results
LAKEWOOD RANCH, Fla. - The Marshall women's golf team improved by eight strokes from round one to round two and ended Monday tied for seventh. It was a five position jump from Sunday.
Marshall turned in the fifth best round two combined score out of the 14 teams competing. The players scored five total birdies and stayed with even par on most holes to move ahead of FGCU, Morehead State, UMKC and tie with Georgia State and Jacksonville. Freshman Shelby Brauckmuller and redshirt sophomore Sarfina Seretharan lead the Herd ranked at tied for 21st. Seretharan, senior Pimrawee Huang and sophomore Ylva Forslund all improved by four shots from round one.
FROM THE LEADERBOARD
FIU and WKU are tied for first. The Panthers scored a 7-over 295 in round two after shooting an even par 288 on Sunday. The Hilltoppers improved by one stroke, and combined with the Panthers drop, jumped into the tie at the top. On the player leaderboard, Kelly Grassel of Florida leads the field after shooting a 7-under 65. Grassel is currently at 9-under for the tournament and leads her teammates Samantha Wagner and Taylor Tomlinson by three.
