HUNTINGTON, W.Va. — The Marshall women's tennis team competes in its fourth tournament of the fall season this weekend. The Herd will play in the Hokie Fall Invite, a three-day tournament hosted by Virginia Tech in Blacksburg, Va.
The tournament, which runs from Friday-Sunday, features four singles draws and two doubles
The Herd will be represented by three players this weekend. Marija Bogicevic will compete in the black singles flight. Daniela Dankanych will compete in the orange singles flight and Nikola Novackova will compete in the
In its last tournament, the Herd had the runner-up in both the singles and doubles competition at the ITA Atlantic Regional in Norfolk, Va. Seniors Derya Turhan and Anna Pomyatinskaya finished second in the doubles competition and Turhan finished second in the singles competition. Maddie Silver and Stephanie Smith each reached the round of 16 in the singles draw and teamed up to reach the round of 16 in the doubles bracket. Rachael Morales reached the round of 32 in the singles draw for Marshall. The Herd knocked out four seeded players in the singles bracket and four seeded teams in the doubles bracket.
Play begins Friday at 9 a.m. with the first rounds of doubles play. Singles matches begin Friday at 10 a.m. First and second round singles matches will be played Friday.

The Herd wraps up its fall season next week at the CofC Classic in Charleston, S.C. The tournament, which is hosted by the College of Charleston, runs from Nov. 4-6.
