ANNAPOLIS, Md. - Marshall University divers completed day two of the NCAA Zone A Diving Championships at Lejeune Hall in Annapolis.
In Monday's 1-meter action, junior Kelly Toner narrowly missed out on a place in the top 18, which would have advanced her to the finals. Toner finished with a score of 234.75, just .15 points off the pace of Harvard's Alisha Mah.
Fellow juniors Megan Wolons (202.80) and Heather Lonkert (191.65) finished 43rd and 52nd, respectively.
In the 3-meter event Tuesday, the Herd's top finisher was Wolons, who had a 25th place score of 235.05. Lonkert finished 40th (210.70), while Toner placed 48th (201.15).
"Today was a great learning experience for the girls," diving coach Andrew Helmich said. "This is a high stress meet where over 50 girls are competing and this experience is not really something we are able to get anywhere else. It has been a great event so far and we should get another great experience tomorrow with the tower event. I am looking forward to it and can't wait to see how it goes."
The Herd wraps up competition Wednesday at 11 a.m. with platform diving. Follow Marshall swimming and diving on Twitter, @HerdSwimming.
