Herd Gears Up for Hoya Invitational

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. - Marshall women's golf will return to the course where it carded a runner-up finish last season as it competes at the Hoya Invitational at Four Streams in Beallsville, Md., on April 4-5.

HAVE YOU HERD?
Leigha Holt (Holly Springs, N.C.) and Sarfina Seretharan (Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia) posted the best finishes of their careers at the Bearcats Spring Classic at El Campeon Golf Course on March 27. Holt tied for fourth place among 104 golfers with a 14-over-par 230. Seretharan finished two strokes behind Holt, in a tie for eighth at 232. She had the second-most pars of any player in the tournament (14).

Led by then-senior Korakot Simsiriwong, Marshall took runner-up honors at the 2015 edition of the Hoya Invitational (March 31, 2015). The Herd carded a three-round total of 85-over-par 949 for second, marking its best team finish since it championed the Wendy's Invitational in Charleston, S.C., on Oct. 18, 2011.

TOURNAMENT FORMAT
The nine-team field will tee off on Monday morning at 9 a.m. and play 36 holes, with the final 18 holes starting on Tuesday at 9 a.m.
