FARMVILLE, Va. - The Marshall women's soccer team hits the road again to Farmville, Va. to take on the Longwood Lancers. Kickoff is scheduled for Friday at 7 p.m.

This is the first meeting between the Herd (0-2) and the Lancers (0-1).

Marshall began the season on the road at Purdue and Michigan. The Herd fell in both contests, 2-1 and 4-1 respectively. Both goals were scored by freshman Jordan Sackaris (Smithtown, N.Y.) and assisted by preseason All-C-USA honoree, senior Sydney Arnold (Stafford, Va.).

Longwood dropped its first contest of the year 3-0 to Richmond. The Lancers finished the 2015 season 9-8-2 and lost in the first round of the Big South Tournament. Longwood returns two of its top five scorers from 2015 in senior Amanda Spencer and sophomore Amber Hodges. The Lancers also return its top goalkeeper in junior Maria Kirby who finished 2015 at 7-5-1.

Marshall will end its three-game road swing with the first home game Sept. 2 against IUPUI.
