Thundering Herd Begins Home Slate with IUPUI, ETSU

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. - The Marshall women's soccer team opens its 2016 regular season home schedule with games against IUPUI and ETSU. Kickoff vs. IUPUI (3-1) is scheduled for 7 p.m. Friday night. Marshall (1-2) and ETSU (2-1) will start at 4 p.m. Sunday.
HAVE YOU HERD?
Last time out, Marshall defeated Longwood 1-0 on the strength of Jordan Sackaris's third goal of the season and Emily Moreland's four saves for her first shutout. For her efforts, Conference USA named her the league's Goalkeeper of the Week. Sackaris has all of the Thundering Herd's tallies this season on just five shots.
SCOUTING THE JAGUARS
IUPUI is 3-1 this season after wins over Valparaiso (2-0), Marian University (8-0) and Indiana State (2-1). Its lone loss came to Ball State (4-1). Junior midfielder Hayley Shelton leads the way with eight points (3 goals, 2 assists), while senior forwards Catherine Raster and Tori Minnich have also scored three times. Junior goalie Catherine Schmidt has allowed five goals in just over 337 minutes of action and has all four of the team's decisions.
SCOUTING THE BUCS
ETSU is 2-1 this season after 1-0 wins over USC Upstate and Radford and a 3-2 loss at Tennessee. Sophomore forward Eleonora Goldoni has two goals and four points to lead the way. Senior goalie Jasmine Elliott has played every minute in net for the Bucs and has made eight saves.
