@Herd_Tennis Begins Fall Season at Tribe Invite

HUNTINGTON, W. Va. -- The Marshall women's tennis team opens up its fall season Friday at the eight-team Tribe Invite, hosted by William and Mary in Williamsburg, Va.

Play will consist of three singles matches and three doubles matches for each team. The Herd will play Conference USA foe Old Dominion, in-state rival West Virginia and Liberty in doubles competition while taking on Penn, the host school William and Mary and Old Dominion in singles play.

The Herd returns all five members of the 2015-16 team that went 11-11 and took down two ranked opponents, including reigning Conference USA Player of the Year Derya Turhan (Bad Salzuflen, Germany). The five returning players are joined by junior Stephanie Smith, a transfer student from Indiana University and freshmen Daniela Dankanych and Nikola Novackova.
