CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va.-The Marshall women's tennis team completed play at the UVA Fall Invite Sunday. Matches were moved indoors due to inclement weather at the University of Virginia.

The Herd's best finishes were in the orange doubles flight. Derya Turhan and Anna Pomyatinskaya teamed up to take third place in the flight. Stephanie Smith and Rachael Morales won the consolation bracket of the flight. Daniela Dankanych teamed up with South Carolina's Brigit Folland to win a doubles match. Turhan and Morales each won singles matches for Marshall.

Turhan and Pomyatinskaya opened play with a 6-2 win over Olivia Gaudreault and Cassandra Thebault of Maryland. Morales and Smith won their match, 6-2, over Jena Cheng and Taylor Calton of Utah. Dankanych paired with South Carolina's Folland to defeat Emily Pence and Fallon Delp of Virginia Tech, 6-2. Maddie Silver and Nikola Novackova fell to South Carolina's Hannah Templeton and Ali Mills, 6-2.

In singles play, Turhan continued her impressive season with a 7-6, 6-1 win over Kristina Hovsepyan of Maryland. Morales won over Brianna Turley of Utah, 8-4. Novackova lost to Adriana Rajkovic of ODU, 8-5. Smith retired in her match against Nataliya Vlasova of ODU. Dankanych fell to Gaudreault, 8-6.
