COACH'S CORNER
Quotes from head coach John Mercer

On playing Kentucky…
I just want to thank Kentucky for coming here and playing us at home. It was a great chance for our fans to come out and watch what we had. I think they saw some great tennis.

On the doubles play…
It was great doubles play. We won a match at the No. 2 spot and it came down to the No. 1 doubles match against the top doubles pairing in the country. We definitely had our chances and lost some tough no-advantage points. We had a chance to get the doubles point and when you lose to a team like that, it's tough to build momentum. There's a reason why this team is in the top 20.

On the team's performance
I was impressed with the way we competed. We fought hard all the way to the end and I think we can get a lot out of that. We can continue to grow and keep getting better. We have room for improvement and tonight really gives us a goal to shoot for. We have some more matches against competition like we saw tonight as the season goes on. we'll look forward to those and as for now, we'll look forward to playing Wisconsin on Saturday.
