SAN ANTONIO, Texas – Sophomore Kerri Parks and junior Shelby Brauckmuller finished in a three-way tie atop the leaderboard at the Maryb S. Kauth Invitational Tuesday afternoon. The Herd as a team came in second place.

"The weather today was not ideal but we fought hard and I have never been more proud of this team than I am now," Herd head coach Brooke Burkhammer said. "We knew what it would take to beat some of these great teams and we did that. Kerri and Shelby continue to play well for us every single time we tee it up. We learned a lot from the last event and I truly believe that helped us this time.

"These ladies are so unbelievably good and I'm blessed to be around them every day."

Teams got back out on the course today after the second round was canceled due to bad weather conditions. The event was shortened to two rounds and 36 holes. The weather for the final round was in the mid-40s with 10-15 mph winds.

Parks finished round one in the lead with a 5-under 67 and shot 4-over in the third round to end the tournament with a 1-under 143. Brauckmuller shot a 1-under 71 in the first round and came back with an even par 72 in the final round to also finish with a 1-under 143. Capping off the three-way tie for first was Sabrina Iqbal of TCU. Iqbal scored a 4-under 68 in round one and then a 3-over 75 in the third round for the lead-tying score of 1-under 143.

Sophomore Stormy Randazzo and senior Ylva Forslund both finished in the top 20 for the Herd. Forslund jumped up 13 spots on the leaderboard to finish in a tie for 20th.

As a team, Marshall scored a 588 for the two-round event. TCU won the team award with a 5-over team score of 581.
