KIAWAH ISLAND, S.C. – The Marshall women's golf team finished round one of the Palmetto Intercollegiate, Sunday afternoon from Turtle Point Golf Course.
Marshall is in 14th place out of 18 teams, but the Herd is just six shots back of getting back into the top 10. Sophomore Kerri Parks leads the Herd as she is tied for 11th overall after scoring a 1-over 73.
"It was a rough day for us," Herd head coach Brooke Burkhammer said. "We have two days to turn things around. We have to climb up the leaderboard tomorrow no matter what."
College of Charleston leads after shooting a 4-under team score of 284. Clarissa von Stosch of College of Charleston is in the lead after a 4-under 68.
Marshall gets round two started at 11:00 a.m. on the tenth hole.
