Women’s Golf Jumps up Three Spots on Leaderboard at Palmetto Intercollegiate

KIAWAH ISLAND, S.C. – The Marshall women's golf team moved up three spots on the team leaderboard after the second round of the Palmetto Intercollegiate, Monday afternoon at Turtle Point Golf Course.
The Thundering Herd is now in 11th place out of 18 teams.
"We moved up a few spots today which is exactly what we needed," Herd head coach Brooke Burkhammer said. "Tomorrow is chance to cap off a successful fall season for these ladies and I'm ready to see them move up the leaderboard once again."
Sophomore Stormy Randazzo had a great improvement in the second round with five birdies and finished the round with an even-par 72. Randazzo moved up 23 places on the leaderboard. Junior Shelby Brauckmuller moved up 12 spots and is tied for 16th after scoring a 1-over 73 and is 4-over for the first two rounds. Senior Ylva Forslund raised up eight spots on the leaderboard after a 6-stroke improvement from round one to round two.
College of Charleston continues to lead the event with a 1-under team score of 575, and has a nine-shot lead over Kansas. Clarissa von Stosch remains at the top of the individual leaderboard at 6-under for the first two rounds.
All teams begin the third round Tuesday morning with a shotgun start at 9 a.m. The Herd players will start on the back nine.
