Women’s Golf Prepares for Princess Anne Invitational

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. – The Marshall women's golf team is back on the course at the Princess Anne Invitational. The three-day event begins at the Princess Anne Country Club, Friday morning at 8 a.m.

"This is a great tournament to kick off our three week stretch of tournaments coming up," Herd head coach Brooke Burkhammer said. "The competition will be exactly what we need to get better and continue to improve. I'm excited to see how these ladies stack up against some of the best teams in the nation."
The Herd last played on Sept. 9-10 at the William & Mary Invitational. Marshall won the tournament and junior Shelby Brauckmuller won the individual title, her first collegiate victory. The Herd was supposed to play in the Pirate Collegiate on Sept. 17-18, but the tournament was cancelled due to Hurricane Florence.
Twelve teams and 72 golfers will be participating at the Princess Anne Invitational. Along with Marshall will be the host team Old Dominion, Maryland, UCF, Campbell, Sacramento State, Cincinnati, Delaware, Princeton, Chattanooga, South Florida and Xavier.
The tournament is a 54-hole tournament with one round of 18 holes over three days. The course is a par 70 with a distance of 5,824 yards. Tee times are set between 8-10 a.m. each day and will begin at the first hole.
Marshall is one of the first three teams to tee off beginning at 8 a.m. The Herd is paired with Sacramento State and Old Dominion.
