Women’s Golf Tied for Seventh After Round One at Princess Anne Invite

Brauckmuller leads Herd, tied for tenth

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. – The Marshall women's golf team finished the first round of the Princess Anne Invitational in a tie for seventh, Friday afternoon from the Princess Anne Country Club.
"We fought back after a rough start but these ladies never give up," Herd head coach Brooke Burkhammer said. "Grit was our best friend today and we have two more days to keep turning things around."
Junior Shelby Brauckmuller leads the Herd in a tie for tenth after finishing with a 1-over 71. Freshman Jackie Schmidt is next at 2-over 72 and tied for 18th. The team finished the day with nine total birdies and sophomore Stormy Randazzo recorded three.
UCF and Campbell are tied for the top spot after scoring a 4-over 284 in the first round. Virunpat Olankitkunchai of Maryland leads the field with a 5-under 65. Elizabeth Moon of UCF is second with a 3-under 67.

Marshall will tee off Saturday beginning at 8 a.m. on the 10th hole. Parks will be the first to start for the Herd followed by Forslund at 8:12 a.m., Randazzo at 8:24 a.m., Schmidt at 8:36 a.m. and Brauckmuller at 8:48 a.m. All of Marshall's golfers will begin at the 10th hole.
