Rucker Signs With Herd Men’s Basketball

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. – Fifth-year Marshall men's basketball head coach Dan D'Antoni welcomed forward Dajour Rucker (Virginia Beach, Va./Cape Henry Collegiate School) to the Herd as he signed his National Letter of Intent to join the program Wednesday (Nov. 14).
"We expect Dajour to fit right into our ball club," D'Antoni said. "He's a three or a four that can shoot outside and play inside. At either position he can handle the ball, make passes and be a playmaker. He's smart when it comes to the game and we look forward to him playing at Marshall."
Rucker, a 6-6 forward, has starred on the court at Cape Henry Collegiate School. While being named 2017 Tidewater Conference of Independent Schools Player of Year and all-TCIS for 2016-17 and 2017-18, Rucker has also scored over 1,300 points as he heads into his senior year.
"Marshall is getting a great kid and a great student-athlete who will take care of what he needs to," Cape Henry head coach Mark Hall said. "He's a high-motor guy, who finishes everything around the rim and can stretch the defense by shooting the three ball."
Through three seasons, Rucker is averaging 19.6 points, 11 rebounds and five blocked shots per game.
"In terms of his overall ability, it's all on him," Hall said. "He has the capability of being a solid basketball player at Marshall."
