HUNTINGTON, W.Va. - Head women's soccer coach Kevin Long announced the addition of early enrollee Laura Farrelly on Monday.

"Laura is impacting us ahead of schedule," said Long. "She is attacking her workouts and brings us a different perspective on the field we were looking for. She will play somewhere in the midfield for us, has already proven to have great vision on the field, dynamic runs in the attacking third and is looking to be dangerous every time she touches the ball. Off the field, she is already fitting in with the team and has acclimated very well."

A native of New South Wales, Australia, the 5-2 midfielder is a three-time (2015-17) Senior Player of the Year for Central Coast Grammar school, was the captain of her team from the 2016-17 season, led her to a finals in 2016 and is a two-time junior Player of the Year. During her final year of secondary school, she scored eight goals. She plans to major in Exercise Science.

Farrelly will be immediately able to participate in the Herd's 2018 spring schedule.
