Herd Women's Golf Wraps Up Regular Season

MACON, Ga. - The Marshall women's golf team completed its regular season with an eight-placed finish and a score of 53-over-par 917 after three rounds at the Brickyard Collegiate on Tuesday afternoon at the Brickyard Golf Club at Riverside.
"We had one great score and a few that we knew that needed to be better," head coach Brooke Burkhammer said. "We have some nice weather coming up at home the rest of this week, so we will be practicing and preparing for the Conference USA Championship. At that time, it's anyone's ballgame and I like our chances. We have fighters on this team and I'm glad I'm on this journey with them."
Sophomore Shelby Brauckmuller was the top finisher for the Herd in a tie for 17th place after she finished the tournament with a 9-over 225. Brauckmuller thrived in the third round after she finished with a 1-under 71, which was highlighted by making birdies in three of four holes in the front-nine. Overall, Brauckmuller collected 37 pars and six birdies through 54 holes.
Junior Ylva Forslund finished the tournament in a tie for 29th after she finished with a 12-over 228. Freshman Stormy Randazzo finished three strokes back from Forslund with a score of 15-over 231 to put her in a tie for 37th.
Overall, Vanderbilt swept both the team and individual awards after it beat Old Dominion by 10 strokes with a 5-over 869. The Commodore's Morgan Baxendale edged out Florida State's Amanda Doherty and the Monarch's Katerina Vlasinova with a two-stroke victory and 3-under 213.
