HUNTINGTON, W.Va. - Marshall men's basketball coach Dan D'Antoni officially welcomed guard Taevion Kinsey (Columbus, Ohio/Eastmoor Academy), who signed National Letters of Intent to join fellow signees, Jeremy Dillon and Cameron Brooks-Harris.
"Taevion is a tremendous athlete that can play and guard any position from the one to the three," D'Antoni said. "He's exciting and fun to watch. He's not just a basketball player, but he excels in the classroom with a 3.1 GPA. He's a smart kid and can play any position well."
Kinsey, a 6-5 guard, 155-pound guard, will be immediately eligible for the 2018-19 season.
The new signee was a member of the Ohio Prep Sportswriters Association all-state second team this season. During his senior season, Kinsey averaged 19.5 points, shot 60 percent from the field and 39 percent of his 3-pointers. Kinsey's other individual honors includes being named the Division II district Player of the Year and a member of the OPSA's all-state first team during his junior season. Brooks-Harris and Kinsey are familiar with each other, as they were AAU teammates together.
