The Series: Four meetings, Marshall leads 4-0
The series between Marshall and UTSA is very young. The Herd and the Roadrunners met for the first time on May 11, 2016 in the first round of the Conference USA Tournament. The teams battled through a tightly contested ball game before Marshall finally pulled out the win in walk-off fashion. With two runners on base, junior Morgan Zerkle dropped down a bunt and outran the throw to first as sophomore Jordan Colliflower came home to score the winning run. Marshall and UTSA met again in 2017 in Huntington for the first ever series and the Herd swept the Roadrunners. The wins got Marshall to eight wins in a row, part of the Herd's program record 17-game winning streak. Taylor McCord was named Conference USA Player of the Week after driving in eight runs, including two home runs in game two.

Scouting the Roadrunners
