Marshall Cross Country Announces Schedule Change

Thundering Herd headed to Indiana State
HUNTINGTON, W.Va.—Due to the anticipated impact of Hurricane Florence, Marshall cross country's scheduled meet Saturday at the Winthrop Invitational has been cancelled.
The Herd will now compete Saturday at the John McNichols Invitational hosted by Indiana State University in Terre Haute, Indiana. The meet will take place at the Lavern Gibson Championship Cross Country Course, a regular host of the NCAA Division I Cross Country Championships. The course hosted the meet as recent as 2016, and will host the meet next season in 2019.
The meet will begin at 9 a.m. ET on Saturday, September 15 in "XC Town USA".
"Although we were excited for Winthrop, this is probably for the best," assistant coach Caleb Bowen said. "The conditions were going to be really wet and windy, and more importantly those hotel rooms the teams would stay in should be used for people evacuating the coast.
"We are blessed for the opportunity to quickly turn around and go to Indiana State and run on a course that has been run at Nationals quite often and run in XC Town USA," Bowen said. "We'll be running against great competition and are looking forward to it."
