Women’s Golf Begins 2018-19 Season with Runner-Up Finish at Roseann Schwartz Invite

BOARDMAN, Ohio – Led by a trio of players finishing in a tie for fifth, the Marshall women's golf team capped off the Roseann Schwartz Invitational in second place. Junior Shelby Brauckmuller along with sophomores Kerri Parks and Stormy Randazzo finished with a 3-over 147 to come in fifth.
"It's good to get the season started on a positive note with a second place finish," Herd head coach Brooke Burkhammer said. "We have two busy weeks coming up and some things to improve on as well."
Parks finished three strokes better than in round one to make the jump from tenth to fifth place. Freshman Jackie Schmidt bumped up two spots to finish in 13th. Senior Ylva Forslund rounded out for the Herd tied for 16th. All of the Herd's golfers finished in the top third of the tournament.
Youngstown State won the team award with a 1-over team score of 577. Katlyn Shutt of Youngstown State ran away with the individual trophy finishing at 12-under. Shutt shot a 4-under 68 in round one, and an 8-under 64 in round two.
