Shrout coming to the Herd from Fairland High School
HUNTINGTON, W.Va. – Marshall women's golf head coach Brooke Burkhammer announced the signing of Hannah Shrout for the upcoming 2020-21 season.
Shrout comes to the Herd from nearby Fairland High School, right across the Ohio River in Proctorville, Ohio.
"I am extremely excited for Hanna to join the Herd Family and make an instant impact once she arrives on campus," coach Burkhammer said. "She is competitive and a hard worker and I am glad she chose Marshall to become an even better golfer and person."
Shrout has been playing golf since the eighth grade and has participated in three state tournaments. She earned All-Ohio Second Team honors as a junior and first-team honors as a senior. Shrout also garnered the Southeast District Player of the Year award.
Shrout scored a career-best 65 to win the Ohio Valley Conference girls championship. She also scored a 3-under 69 on Ohio State's Gray Course. She has pulled in many awards while playing for Fairland's boys and girls teams. Shrout also finished second at the Duke Ridgley Tournament earlier this year.
