LYNCHBURG, Va. – Marshall swimming and diving finished up action at the TYR' 85 Invite as action concluded Sunday on day three of the event hosted by Liberty.
"What a fun weekend it was for this group," head coach Ian Walsh said. "Our coaching staff could not be prouder of how we performed, especially this evening. Angelica (Di Marzio) got us started with an inspiring swim in the mile. Jordyn (O'Dell) had another strong showing for us and placed fifth overall in a deep final heat. We had five women back in the 100 Free finals with Darby (Coles) and Catherine (Bendziewicz) taking first and second. Madison (Young) placed in the top three on platform with a score right up against her lifetime best. Then Nicole Rueff notched a top-10 performance in school history in the 200 Butterfly, with the time currently sitting in seventh."
"The highlight of our meet was our performances in the 400 Free Relay. It was an electric atmosphere and we walked away with a win against four teams that won their conference meet last year and an SEC team. It's been a great stepping stone for our program. We look forward to getting back and to work and building off an excellent fall semester."
