HUNTINGTON, W.Va. – Marshall men's basketball travels to the sunshine state of Florida to take on the Florida Gators at Exactech Arena on Friday night in Gainesville.

Marshall defeated Howard in its last contest against Howard.
 
In the win, Iran Bennett scored a career-high 17 points in the contest.
 
Taevion Kinsey dished out 14 assists, while turning the ball over just one time, with 14 points for his second double-double in the last three games.
 
Kinsey's 14 assists are the most by a Marshall men's basketball student-athlete since assistant coach Cornelius Jackson had 15 against Central Michigan in the late 90s.
 
Jarrod West leads the Herd with 15.4 points per game. Kinsey leads the squad with 6.6 rebounds per game and a total of 30 assists this season.
 
Jannson Williams has rejected a team-high 12 shots in the first five games.
 
SCOUTING FLORIDA
The Gators are on a three-game win streak after taking all three of its contests at the Charleston Classic against Saint Joseph's, Miami (FL) and then ranked No. 18 Xavier.
 
UF has moved back into the top 25 rankings as it sits at 24 and 25 in the AP and Coaches' Poll, respectively.
 
Kerry Blackshear, Jr., came to Gainesville as a graduate transfer from Virginia Tech in the offseason and currently leads his team with 13.3 points and 9.6 boards per contest.
 
The Gators have two additional student-athletes averaging 10 or more points with Keyontae Johnson and Andrew Nembhard. Johnson is 13 points and 6.6 rebounds, both second on the team, while Nembhard is pouring 10.3 points in the bucket per game and a team-best 38 assists.
