Herd Drops Tri-Meet to Toledo, Florida Gulf Coast

TOLEDO, Ohio – Marshall fell in a tri-meet with host Toledo and Florida Gulf Coast at the Toledo Student Recreation Center Friday evening. The Rockets bested Marshall 180-100 and the FGCU triumphed 166.5-113.5.
""We had 36 out of our 49 entries ended in season-best performances," said head coach Ian Walsh. "We had a lot of close races that didn't go our way but we continued to battle. Catherine (Bendziewicz) and Darby (Coles) both had great performances today. Freshman Maria McGovern continues to impress with her grit and toughness through her events. Regan Raines made some big strides in her primary events tonight as well. As a group, we're in a great spot and look to continue this road trip tomorrow at noon in Bowling Green."
Bendziewicz recorded a victory for Marshall in the 200 IM with a time of 2:05.65.
