ATLANTA, Ga. – Herd swimming and diving's Catherine Bendziewicz closed out the final day of action for Marshall swimming and diving at the U.S. Open in Atlanta with the 100m Freestyle on Saturday.

"I thought Catherine had an excellent swim today," Marshall head coach Ian Walsh said. "She was three for three with lifetime best performances through the meet. She placed 50th out of 153 competitors with a 57.12 in the 100m Freestyle."

"It was the women's first time representing Marshall University at this level of a meet and they made the coaches, their teammates and their university proud," Walsh commented. "We are in a great spot and have positioned ourselves really well leading into our training camp."

Walsh continued, "We have a few months until we will be peaking for another Olympic Trial qualifying meet with a group here in Huntington. Our staff is looking forward to preparing this team for conference championships, post season selections and our long course meet schedule."

The Thundering Herd will be back in action on Jan. 11 in a dual meet at Duquesne.
