Women’s Golf Moves into Second Place in Second Round of Bobby Nichols Intercollegiate

Herd tied with field leader Samford for lowest day-two score

SEVIERVILLE, Tenn. – The Marshall women's golf team improved on day two of the Bobby Nichols Intercollegiate and is now second overall. The Herd tied for the best second round score on Monday.
"We had a few good rounds again today," Herd head coach Brooke Burkhammer said. "We need a round tomorrow where we all show up and play like we know we can. We continue to put ourselves in position to win. Now we need to execute and get it done."
All five of the Herd's players are now ranked 17th or better. Freshman Jackie Schmidt improved by three strokes and moved up to a tie for fifth overall. Sophomore Stormy Randazzo had a great second round by improving her score by six strokes and moved up 16 spots on the leaderboard and sits in 11th. Senior Ylva Forslund also moved up the leaderboard on Monday by 14 spots and is tied for 14th. Junior Shelby Brauckmuller is still ranked in the top 10 (seventh) and sophomore Kerri Parks is 17th.
Emily Uhland of Samford is now the individual leader with an overall 1-under 141. Samford is still the team leader with a score of 579, just four shots ahead of Marshall. Both schools put up a team score of 290, nine strokes better than the next round two score of 299 from Eastern Kentucky.
