FORT MYERS, Fla. – Sophomore Kerri Parks scored a 5-under 67, and moved into third overall in the second round of the Conference USA Championships, Tuesday afternoon. The Marshall women's golf team remains in fifth place at Old Orange.
"Kerri was huge for us today," Herd head coach Brooke Burkhammer said. "She played great and I am so happy for her. Stormy (Randazzo) had a solid round as well. Watching these girls play can be a lot of fun especially when birdie putts are falling. Final round tomorrow so I hope we send Ylva (Forslund) off with a great round."
Parks had just one bogey compared to six birdies, while her 67 tied for the best score of the round. Through the first two rounds, the Flushing, Mich., native is tied for the third most birdies in the tournament with eight.
The Herd, as a team, recorded 12 total birdies on Tuesday. The combined team score of 586 is a Marshall program record in the C-USA Championships. The previous best was 601 during the first two rounds in 2015.
Sophomore Stormy Randazzo recorded two birdies to finish the day with an even-par 72, and move up 14 spots on the leaderboard.
Parks, Randazzo and junior Shelby Brauckmuller are all in the top 25 after the first two rounds.
