Abu-Tayeh was a 2018 all-conference second-team selection after the 2018 campaign

IRVING, Texas – Senior Marshall women's soccer forward Marah Abu-Tayeh was named to the 2019 Conference USA Women's Soccer Preseason Team on Monday, as announced by the conference office.

"Marah played just about anywhere we asked her last year, and her combination of speed and attacking mentality made it hard for defenders all year," Herd head coach Kevin Long said. "I look forward to seeing her build on her performance from last season in the upcoming year."

Abu-Tayeh moved to forward full-time last season for the first time in her Marshall career. She responded with a team-leading eight goals, one assist and 17 points. Her eight goals last season is tied for the seventh most in a season in program history. The Williamsville, Ill., native scored her first career goal for the game-winner against EKU. She scored both of the Herd's goals in a 2-1, overtime victory at UTEP. Six of her eight goals came in conference play. The junior forward totaled 36 shots with 20 on goal.
