Herd Swimming and Diving Falls at Ohio

RESULTS

ATHENS, Ohio-The Marshall Swimming and Diving team dropped its meet to fellow rival Ohio University on Friday with a final score of 177-120 at Ohio University Aquatic Center.

The Herd picked up wins in the 200 Yard Medley Relay (1:47.12; Heather Sigmon, Catherine Bendziewicz, Hannah Robins, Darby Coles), and the 200 Yard Freestyle Relay (1:37.36; Alexis Wilhoit, Catherine Bendziewicz, Or Tamir, Jordyn O'Dell).

Senior Jordyn O'Dell also won the 100 Yard Backstroke event in 57.72 seconds.

Junior Darby Coles came out on top in the 50 Yard Freestyle (23.91), second in the 200 Yard Freestyle (1:54.45) and 100 Yard Freestyle events (51.99).

Senior Hannah Robins picked up a win in the 100 Yard Butterfly (57.92), fourth in the 200 Yard Butterfly (2:10.15) and 200 Yard IM (2:13.82).

Senior Madison Young finished second overall in the three-meter diving (286.13) and fourth in the one-meter event (2:57.55).

Marshall will conclude its final home meet of the season against James Madison University on Saturday, Feb. 1 at 2 p.m., where the five seniors (Jordyn O'Dell, Catherine Bendziewicz, Angelica Di Marzio, Hannah Robins, Maddie Young) will be honored in a ceremony that is set to begin at approximately 1:45.

The Herd will then prepare for the Conference USA Championships swim meets that will take place Feb. 26-Feb. 29 in Atlanta, Ga.
