Swimming and Diving To Compete in Conference USA Championship Meet

ATLANTA—The Marshall University women's swimming and diving team competes at the 2020 Conference USA Swimming and Diving Championships beginning Wednesday, February 26 through Saturday, February 29 at the McAuley Aquatic Center on the campus of Georgia Tech.

The Thundering Herd looks to build upon a fourth-place finish at last season's championship meet. Marshall took home two relay medals and five individual medals.

Senior Catherine Bendziewicz defended her 200 IM title for the third consecutive year at last season's meet as well as garnering two second place finishes in the 200 and 100 Freestyle events. So far this season Bendziewicz was named C-USA Swimmer of the Week twice for her performances over the dual meet portion of the schedule.

Last season, Hannah Robins and Jordyn O'Dell also both placed third overall in the 100 Butterfly and 200 Backstroke, respectively.

Bendziewicz, O'Dell and Robins are three of five seniors for Marshall along with Angelica DiMarzio and Madison Young that will be competing at C-USA Championships for the final time.

Senior diver Madison Young has been named C-USA Diver of the Week on one occasion this season. Young qualified for the 2020 NCAA Zone A Diving Championships at West Virginia with her showing at the Ohio University dual meet as well as freshman Lauren Henderson on January 31st.
