Stefancic Seals 4-3 Win for Herd Tennis over Middle Tennessee

Stefancic’s singles victory came in three sets
HUNTINGTON, W.Va. – Liz Stefancic pulled off the last singles win the Herd needed to defeat Middle Tennessee, 4-3 on Saturday in Greenville, S.C.
"I am very happy for her," head coach John Mercer said. "She showed a lot of fight, roughing out the win after we had built a 3-0 lead."
The Herd started off the day by winning the doubles point of the dual. Anna Smith and Daniela Dankanych defeated Lee Barnard and Zani Barnard, 6-2. Followed by Madison Riley and Jutte Van Hansewyck defeating Noelle Mauro and Muskan Gupta.
Smith pulled out the first win for the Herd in the singles competition beating Z Bernard. However, the Blue Raiders took the next two matches with L. Barnard beating Dankanych and Lidia Burrows defeating Van Hansewyck.
Ballow was able to bounce back for the Herd, collecting a win on court four and the third point. It was Stefancic that won the last point and the dual for the Herd, defeating Mauro.
