Women’s Golf Set for Final Fall Event at Grandover

GREENSBORO, N.C. – The Marshall women's golf team is back on the road for its final tournament of the 2021 fall season, Monday and Tuesday, at the Grandover Fall Classic. The event is hosted by UNC Greensboro.
The tournament is set to be played at the Grandover Resort and Conference Center on the East Course. It is a par-72 with total yardage of 6,155. Monday begins with a shotgun start at 8:30 a.m., and the teams will play two rounds. The third and final round is set for Tuesday. Live scoring is provided by GolfStat.com.
Competing for Marshall will be graduate student Stormy Randazzo, seniors Jackie Schmidt and Torren Kalaskey, junior Makena Rauch and freshman Emily McLatchey. The Herd's golfers will begin on holes 12-15. Rauch led Marshall at its last tournament, the Olde Stone Intercollegiate, after scoring an even par 72 in the final round.
The Herd is one of 12 teams playing in the event. Along with the host UNCG the other programs are Delaware State, Evansville, East Tennessee State, High Point, Lander University, North Carolina A&T, Longwood, Towson, South Dakota, William & Mary. 7th-ranked Wake Forest has three individuals who will be playing but not competing as a team. ETSU is ranked No. 47 in the GolfStat rankings and Lander University is No. 31 in Division II.
The Grandover Fall Classic is the fifth tournament for Marshall this fall. The Herd has played at the William & Mary Fall Invitational (Sept. 12-13), the Pirate Collegiate Classic (Sept. 20-21), the Butler Fall Invitational (Oct. 4-5) and the Olde Stone Intercollegiate (Oct. 25-26). Marshall's best finish so far this fall season was fourth place at the Pirate Collegiate Classic.
