Herd Tennis To Face WKU In First Round Of C-USA Championships

HUNTINGTON, W.Va.—The Marshall tennis team (6-8) will travel to Denton, Texas for a first-round matchup on Thursday against the WKU Hilltoppers in the 2021 Conference USA Championships.

The Herd will serve as the No. 6 seed in the tournament, while the Hilltoppers come into the contest with the No. 11 seed.

The tournament will be a four-day single elimination tournament featuring all 14 teams. There will not be any live streams available.

Liz Stefancic was the only member of the Herd to claim a point in her singles match in the 6-1 loss vs. Syracuse.

SCOUTING THE OPPONENT: WKU
Western Kentucky University is currently 7-13 on the season. The Hilltoppers are coming off a 4-3 loss to Cincinnati.

SERIES HISTORY
The Herd and the Hilltoppers last matchup took place April 21, 2017, where WKU defeated the Herd 4-3 in Huntington. The Hilltoppers have a 1-0 series advantage.
