Herd Tennis Travels to ITA Atlantic Regional in Blacksburg

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. – The Marshall University tennis team travels to Blacksburg, Virginia, to compete at the ITA Atlantic Regional beginning Thursday.

The event begins with two rounds of qualifying singles on Thursday. To qualify for the main draw, student athletes must win two matches on Thursday.

Strom is set for a matchup against Radford's Lexi Smolder at 8 a.m., Gillar will face Virginia's Margaret Navarro at 10:45 a.m. and Clairotte will take on VCU's Gabriela Ana Maria Davidescu at 11 a.m. on Thursday to begin qualifying for the main draw in singles.

Vanderheyden has already been placed in the main draw for singles set to begin on Friday.

Main draw doubles will also begin on Friday with Vanderheyden/Strom teaming up and Clairotte/Gillar also forming a doubles team. Matchups are TBD for the doubles draw.
