Strom Advances to ITA Atlantic Regional Main Draw Singles

Freshman takes both singles contests
BLACKSBURG, Va. – Marshall University tennis freshman Johanna Strom advanced to the main draw in singles at the ITA Atlantic Regional on Thursday with a pair of wins.
"It was nice to see JoJo advance today," Herd tennis head coach John Mercer said. "She played two very competitive opponents, but was able to battle her way through to the main draw. She's looking forward to tomorrow's matches."
Strom didn't drop a set in her two victories overcame a 1-3 second-set deficit against Delaware's Julieta Honrubia Andrino to advance into the main draw, joining teammate sophomore Emma Vanderheyden, who was already in the main draw prior to the tournament.
