The Duquesne game on November 27 will serve as Thankful Night. Fans who bring in a canned good will receive tickets for $1 to the game. The canned goods will be donated to Facing Hunger Foodbank.
PREGAME NOTES
The Marshall Thundering Herd finished 2-1 at the Hostilo Hoops Community Classic this past week. Coach Kemper's side defeated UT Martin, 70-57 Monday, and Purdue Fort Wayne, 45-39, Tuesday. The Herd fell to a 5-1 Norfolk State, 48-43, Wednesday.
Roshala Scott leads the team with 16 points per game. The junior guard from Earle, Arkansas scored 50 points in the three Savannah matches.
The Herd defense is allowing 51.2 points per game on average through five games. Marshall is averaging 15.8 points off turnover per game.
ABOUT THE DUKES
The Duquesne Dukes are 4-1 in 2022, coming off a win over Siena Tuesday. Head Coach Dan Burt holds a 173-107 record across 10 seasons for Duquesne. The West Liberty University graduate holds the third most wins in the Atlantic 10 since taking over, and is three wins shy of being the all-time winningest coach in program history.
Ayanna Townsend is the team's leading scorer, averaging 14.6 points per game.
Megan McConnell is averaging nearly a double-double for Duquesne. The Pittsburgh native is averaging 12.4 points per game with a 9.0 rebounds per game average.
SERIES HISTORY
Sunday's contest will be the first meeting between Marshall and Duquesne in women's basketball.
