HAVE YOU HEARD
The Herd fell to the FIU Panthers, 72-71, on Thursday in Huntington.

Redshirt sophomore Andrew Taylor led all scorers with 22 points. Taylor made eight of his 14 shots from the field, including 4-for-6 from three-point range.

Junior Taevion Kinsey followed with 14 points on a 5-for-9 shooting night. The native of Columbus, Ohio, recorded five assists, tied with Taylor for the team-lead in the game. Freshman Obinna Anochili-Killen grabbed a game-high nine boards.

The Herd outscored the Panthers 42-33 in the second half.

MU scored 16 second-chance points on nine offensive rebounds.

Marshall shot 17-for-32 (53.1 percent) from the field in the second half.

The Herd made a three in its 994th consecutive game, with the last contest without a triple occurring on Feb. 27, 1989, in a win over App State.

Kinsey extended his double-figure scoring streak to 56 consecutive games.

Taylor recorded his fifth game of 20 or more points this season.

SCOUTING UTEP
The Miners are led by Souly Boum who is averaging 19.1 points per game. Boum was named Conference USA Player of the Week on Jan. 31.

UTEP ranks 32nd in Division I men's basketball in free-throw percentage at 76.1 percent.
