MU fell at Old Dominion, 79-64, on Thursday night.
Freshman Obinna Anochili-Killen paced the Herd with 15 points and eight rebounds. Redshirt sophomore Andrew Taylor followed with 12 points and a team-best seven assists.
Senior Mikel Beyers and junior Taevion Kinsey each recorded 11 points.
Marshall outscored ODU 36-29 in the second half.
The Herd made a three in its 992nd consecutive game, with the last contest without a triple occurring on Feb. 27, 1989, in a win over App State.
With a three late in the game, Kinsey extended his double-figure scoring streak to 55 consecutive games.
Beyers and Taylor have scored 10 or more points in each of their last three games.
SCOUTING CHARLOTTE
The 49ers are a two-game skid and fell, 78-59, on Thursday to the Western Kentucky Hilltoppers.
Charlotte leads C-USA in free-throw percentage as it makes 76.6 percent of its attempts from the charity stripe.
Jahmir Young leads his side in points and assists per game at 18.7 and 3.8, respectively.
