Tennis Travels to Ohio for Matchup with RedHawks

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. – The Marshall University tennis team (7-9) heads to southwest Ohio to take on Miami (OH) RedHawks on Saturday evening.

The Herd dropped a pair of matches last weekend to James Madison, 5-2, and Michigan State, 4-2.
Marshall took the doubles point against the Dukes with the pairings of Emma Vanderheyden/Sophia Hurrion and Madi Ballow/Jutte Van Hansewyck picking up wins on courts one and two, respectively.
Vanderheyden won her singles contest in the matchup with JMU in straight sets in the number one position.
Against the Spartans, Vanderheyden/Liz Stefacic combined for a doubles victory on court one along with Aisling McGrane/Gabrielle Clairotte on court three to win the doubles point.
Ballow won the lone singles contest for the Herd on court two in straight sets.
Vandereyden and Stefancic are ranked No. 67 as a doubles pairing by the ITA.
SCOUTING THE OPPONENT: Miami (OH)
The RedHawks are 6-6 this season and coming off a win over Lipscomb.
Brindtha Ramasamy is 6-2 in number one singles during the spring.
